Hi friends: It’s day 49 of 365 of the carnivore diet experiment! I think that my meals are becoming very repetitive of course because I am mostly eating a steak a day. In the past I would feel guilty when I ate a steak…not anymore.
Red meat is packed with protein, which is critical for muscle growth and recovery. It’s also high in iron and vitamin B-12, which boosts the immune system and keeps red blood cells healthy. So here’s a list of beautiful steaks that will not make you feel guilty for indulging in the glory of steak. When you are at the grocery and you are not quite sure what steak to buy. Use this as your guide.
The best cuts of steak:
Sirloin tip side steak
Taken from the sirloin tip or the top of the round. Very lean, but still holds flavor.
Top round steak
Cut from the hip (part of the round) and considered flavorful and more tender than other cuts from the round.
Filet mignon (Chateaubriand or tenderloin)
The most tender and sought-after of all cuts of beef.
Porterhouse steak
Very expensive and flavorful. Cut from the choice tenderloin.
Skirt steak
Also known as a flank steak. Taken from the plate or chest of the cow, it’s known for its flavor over tenderness.
T-bone steak
A cut from below the porterhouse. Its high-fat content means that it stays tender while cooking.
Rib-eye steak (rib roast, prime rib)
This is the royalty of steaks. Very marbled cut, which means it’s flavorful and stays tender while cooking. It is my favourite cut of all the steaks. I love the taste. It is very forgiving if you over grill.
So now that you know which steaks to buy. Here the steaks to avoid!

Hi friends: It’s day 45 of 365 of the carnivore diet experiment! Just a quick recap for my newest readers. Welcome to my blog.
I have been eating a meat-only diet which is pretty self-explanatory. I only eat meat. No fruits…no vegetables or dairy. Just meat!
Foods that are allowed on the Carnivore Diet:
If you are interested in this diet….Here’s what you’ll be eating:
Red meat (beef, goat meat, pork, lamb) ensure they are fatter cuts
Organ meats
Chicken
Fish
Eggs
Bone marrow
Butter
Seasoning of your choice (salt, pepper)
Bone broth
Water
Other acceptable foods are dairy:
Milk
Yogurt
Cheese
Coffee and Tea – no sugar or sweeteners
Be very cautious about dairy due sensitives.
Anything else that isn’t meat is not allowed on the carnivore diet.
A typical day of carnivore diet eating for me consists of:
Dinner: 12-ounce ribeye steak and bacon.
A typical day of carnivore diet eating for my husband consists of:
Lunch: Chicken wings
Dinner: Rib-eye steak and bacon
There are no snacks here. One of the benefits of a carnivore diet is you will feel full much faster because of the high protein. Many carnivores are usually not hungry in between meals. I basically sip water between meals.
I hope I have caught up all of my new readers.

Hi friends: It’s day 40 of 365 of the carnivore diet experiment! Recently, someone posted on my Instagram that I should adopt the vegan lifestyle to lose weight.
I want to share that I was once a vegan. Well for a month. It was difficult and I could say maybe I didn’t give the vegan lifestyle a fair shot. The purpose of trying this diet was…well…I wanted to lose 5 pounds so that I could fit into a pair of size 3 shorts.
For me, it was not the best experience. I did this when I was a teen and of course living at home. I saw a magazine when my mom and I went grocery shopping. The girl on the cover was fit and lean and she got that way from eating zero meat. The cover of the magazine read lose 20 pounds in one week eating like a vegan or something like that…. I flipped through the magazine to get the best bits. There was no way my mom was going to buy it for me. She had told me in the past that my weight was perfect.
Veganism is the practice of abstaining from the use of animal products, particularly in diet, and an associated philosophy that rejects the commodity status of animals. So no meat products. I thought to myself I can do this.
At first, I ate vegetables and fruits and I tried to keep it healthy. However, the more fruits I ate the hungrier I felt. The more vegetables I ate the more bloated I felt. I noticed I no longer fit into my jeans because of the bloat.
I didn’t eat junk food at first. I stuck to healthier foods but that got old really fast. I never felt satisfied. I ate things like crackers, nuts, chips, nachos, pre-packaged foods, cookies, waffles, cupcakes, cakes, pasta, rice and everything deep-fried. I was constantly snacking. Looking back I think I was a junk food vegan. I think you know where this is going.
I was a healthy 130 pounds and in a space of a month, I had ballooned to 155 pounds. Yes, 25 pounds in one month. I was a fat vegan. So this person that left that comment for me is very ill-informed. Losing weight on a vegan diet can be very difficult. I can imagine that it is more difficult now. When I browse the snacks at the health food store. Some of the vegan snack look really yummy but they are packed with calories and yes coconut ice cream is delicious but it’s probably not a good idea to eat too much it.
Doing the carnivore diet, I am not dealing with these issues. After eating a steak, I feel so satisfied. I do not constantly feel that I am hungry and I love that!
Today’s one meal was bacon, eggs, and steak!
