Hello friends: I have been doing the carnivore diet experiment now for 3 months. My goal is to do it for 52 weeks. The carnivore diet is a diet that consists of eating meat when you are hungry and drinking water when you are thirsty.

The carnivore diet movement exploded on the scene when Dr. Shawn Baker started to promote it. He spoke about it on the Joe Rogan show. For that one interview, he reached millions of people. I saw that interview and decided to give it a try. My protocol is to eat meat once a day. I can eat as much as I want until full and satisfied. My beverage was water. No coffee or tea. So basically, what I’m doing is omad(one meal a day)/carnivore diet.
I chose not to have coffee or tea because I have to have molasses and cream in my coffee. Sweeteners are not allowed on this diet.

I have seen some amazing benefits. This diet helped me to see that I was allergic to dairy. Cutting dairy has cleared my adult acne and helped with my digestive issues. It has always helped with my battle with periodontal disease. Actually, it reversed it. I think this has a lot to do with the elimination of sugar. Currently, I am struggling a bit. I am not dropping as much weight as I expected I would and I am also experiencing very severe sugar cravings. I intend to complete the challenge. However, if I do fail. I know it will be due to cravings. I have read so many blogs about this diet and so many people have said that their sugar craving goes away within the first month. What about me? Ok…I know everyone is different. I wonder if I am lacking in some nutrient that is making me feel that I want carbs or sugar. It’s been three months after all. I do not feel hungry when I’m not eating. Actually, when I eat a fatty steak. I always felt full for a very long time. It is the delicious sweet smells, the commercials, being around carbs and sweets, the parties, the family gatherings. The social aspect of this diet is a real challenge. What do you guys think? Also, did your craving ever go away while on this diet?

Hi friends: It’s day 80 of 365 of the carnivore diet experiment! It also marks day two of my extended fast. As I mentioned in yesterday’s blog, I wanted to do this fast before 2019 and it is almost here.

As I have been feeling plagued by cravings, the Christmas season is in full swing. There are baked goods and yummy food everywhere. The temptations are everywhere. Christmas is only a week away. I have declined party invitations because many of these functions are vegan food-focused with lots of carbs. My plan was to eat before going to these functions. I didn’t know many of these people well enough that I could bring my own food to snack on. The easiest thing to do was to avoid and keep myself away from temptations.

You see I am fine with an all-meat diet. However, if some junk is put before me. I am very tempted. So I decided to do a water fast in combination with the sea salt water flush to clear my head and to give me a little restart. There are so many health benefits to both the sea salt water flush and water fasting.

Some of the benefits to water fasting is more energy, clear focus, and better digestion. My digestion and energy is good so I don’t have to work about that.

We plan to go to my sister’s for Christmas this year. She is an excellent cook. So I know there will be excellent food over the holidays. I am considering pausing my carnivore diet experiment so that I can enjoy some of that food but I may just eat the keto-friendly foods only. I’m not sure just yet what I am going to do! I have a week to decide.

It’s day 2 of this cleanse and this morning. I didn’t feel hungry. I woke up got my daughter’s lunch together. Then drove her to school.

I had prepared my sea salt water the night before. When I returned home I drank it right away and started working. I work from home. If you work outside of the home, this arrangement may not work for you. I have to devote at least 4 hours for the sea saltwater to come through me. Everyone is different so do it on a day that you have zero plans.

I did feel slightly hungry in the afternoon but I was mostly thirsty from that sea salt. I was so busy that the day went by really fast.

I made steak for my husband. I also made steak and potatoes for my daughter. I wasn’t tempted by it at all because I have been eating steak for 78 days.

I’m not sure how long this fast will go for but I will not end it tomorrow. I would like to go until Saturday at 6 pm.

Was I hungry? Absolutely for the first 3 days, but then not so much.

You see, several months prior, my wife and I decided to fast as a way of detoxifying our bodies and giving our digestive tract a chance to rest and heal itself. We had never attempted such a feat before and heard mixed reviews about fasting, but we figured it couldn’t hurt to give it a try.

Hi friends: It’s day 77 of 365 of the carnivore diet experiment!
Just in case, you are new to my blog. The carnivore diet consists of animal foods alone. As long as the constituents of your meal walked, crawled, flew, swam, or otherwise had parents, they’re fair game (no pun intended). You don’t have to follow any rules as far as food timing, macronutrient breakdowns, or portions. Simply eat when you’re hungry and until you’re full. The following are examples of approved carnivore diet foods.

Meat

Steak, burgers, and red meat, in general, are the main food sources for carnivore dieters. Because you’re not eating carbs—or any plant foods at all—it’s crucial that you get enough calories to keep your energy up, so fattier cuts of meat are best. Poultry and organ meats are also fine, as are processed meat products such as bacon and sausage.

Whole Eggs

You’ll need the fat in those yolks.

Fish

Any kind is OK, but again, fattier types such as salmon and sardines are the smartest choices.

Dairy

Milk, cheese, yogurt, and butter all come from animals and are technically admissible, although most carnivore dieters seem to omit or at least limit them.

As one of the goals of a carnivore diet is to eliminate nutrients that your body may not be able to process optimally, you should experiment with dairy foods one at a time and in small doses to see how you handle them. You may find you feel better with none at all.

Fatty Meat Products

Tallow, lard, and other fat-dense foods.

Bone Marrow

Bone broth is allowed.

Today’s dinner was steak, of course!

Week 11 health benefits so far:
Acne – My skin is acne free. Now working on my acne scars.
Digestion – Still great!
Sleep – Same as last week – I am sleeping throughout the night. Insomnia cured!
Skin – No change in my eczema.
Health – I am feeling great. Lots of energy!
Weight – Current weight is 134.4???
Week 1 – I was 139.6!
Week 2 – I was 137.2!
Week 3 – I was 138.8!
Week 4 – I was 137.2!
Week 5 – I was 137.4!
Week 6 – I was 135.2!
Week 7 – I was 136.6!
Week 8 – I was 136.0!
Week 9 – I was 135.4!
Week 10 – I was 135.8!
