Day 19 of 365 | The Carnivore Diet Experiment!

Hi friends: It’s day 19 of 365 of the carnivore diet experiment! Yay! It’s Friday!!! I’m at the point in this experiment where I want to have a cheat meal! When I did the 30-day carnivore challenge, I didn’t have a cheat because the length of the challenge was so short! I knew that as soon as I finished I would indulge in all of the things that I had restricted myself from eating.
Why do I want a cheat meal? I don’t want to quit but I am having serious cravings and I don’t understand why? The television commercials that are filled with carbs are getting to me! The posters with junk food are everywhere! I am not hungry and I was just tempted and I wanted to give in to temptation.
Tomorrow is Saturday and the weekends historically have always been the worst for me. In the past, I would start a diet on a Monday and it would end on a Saturday morning! Then I would start possibly a new diet on Monday! What a vicious cycle!
When I completed the 30-day carnivore challenge in the summer, I had committed to doing the carnivore diet Monday to Friday and keto on the weekends but that didn’t last long. A little cheating here and there and I felt myself going back to old habits. Going from zero sugar to high sugar I think is really hard on the body. It was hard on my body.
The ailments that had been healed came back. When I was doing the carnivore diet challenge, my acne healed, digestive issues improved, and sleep issues faded. However, when I started eating carbs again everything was undone. The worst was acid reflux. I forgot about how I would feel when I went for a simple walk. I had aches and pains. While on the carnivore diet there was zero aches and pains.
Just writing these things…I have decided that a cheat day is not worth it. I don’t want to undo what is in process. I need to focus on what is the right fuel for my body. I am reminding myself why I am doing this. My mantra this weekend is…”the weekend is just another day”. It is important to give this carnivore diet experiment a shot without self-sabotaging.
Today’s dinner was steak, bacon, and eggs! Yum!
Have a great weekend everyone!
