Carnivore Diet fasting bad breath solutions in less than 10 minutes!

 

Hi family: Many have been asking me how I deal with fasting and the side effect of bad breath. Not only does fasting cause bad breath but so does many other low or zero carb diets such keto, keto-carnivore or the carnivore diet. There are many benefits of these diets. One of the main benefits is weight loss.

However one of the most common complaints comes in the form of “bad breath”. Many individuals that are on a low carb diet or those that are participating in a fasting focused lifestyle suffer from unpleasant breath.

The question is; what can be done to counteract such a problem?

Drink More Water
Sipping on water throughout the day is key. It isn’t just handy from a hydration perspective, but can also aid in the fight against bad breath. Drinking plenty of water serves to not only rid your mouth of excess food particles but can also effectively lubricate the mouth.

Lower Your Protein Intake
Some experts claim that increasing the fat in your diet while reducing protein, can also have a beneficial impact on bad breath caused by dieting.

Mask Unpleasant Odours
If your bad breath is being caused solely by ketone production, and you’re keen to remain on your diet, one of the few remaining solutions is simply to mask the smell as much as possible.

Consider the use of calorie-free and carb-free mints or gum, or use a mint-flavoured breath spray or mouthwash.

Boost Your Oral Hygiene

Besides brushing your teeth twice a day — maybe brush after every meal — also consider adding these additional dental health practices to your routine:

Waterpik: It’s a great idea to invest in a waterpik. I love using my waterpik. It’s never an inconvenience like flossing, but using a waterpik will get rid of small food particles between your teeth which would normally rot there and cause bad breath.

Clean Your Tongue: Using a tongue scraper is almost twice as effective at removing bacteria as regular brushing.
Rinse Your Mouth: Rinse your mouth with a saltwater rinse. Just add 1 teaspoon of salt to a cup of water. Then rinse your mouth.

Oil Pulling: Oil pulling with coconut oil, which is naturally antibacterial, will attract leftover food particles and bacteria hiding in your mouth. When you spit, you eliminate these and deep-clean your teeth, tongue, and gums.
