I have seen this on Youtube and some beauty websites for some time and wanted to try it out. I saw videos made by Beauty Diy,
TomisColourPavilion, and Editorial Naturalbeauty556 about the toothpaste and vaseline face mask. So decided to give the VASELINE (Petroleum Jelly) AND COLGATE TOOTHPASTE FACE MASK a try and I couldn’t believe the results at first! Then two days later… I was shocked at what this diy did to my face. Be sure to watch this entire video to find out what happened!

What I have learned since. According to Bustle.com, “Natalie Bell of futurederm.com, wrote, “Don’t put toothpaste on your skin.” She pointed out that ingredients commonly found in toothpaste, like sodium lauryl sulfate, sodium laureth sulfate and sodium flouride, can actually be harmful to the skin. Bell interviewed cosmetic dermatologist Dr. Leslie Baumann, who said that these ingredients are “consistent irritators of the skin” that “strip the natural lipids from the skin” sometimes worsening conditions like dermatitis.”

In my case, I found out that using toothpaste on the face can cause pigmentation issues. Keep in mind that skin that contains more melanin tends to be reactive, meaning that when it comes into contact with an irritating agent, dark pigmentation can occur. After the irritation subsides, pigmentation can take much longer to heal. Just because a diy is trending on Youtube. That is not a good reason to try this mask.

I will give you my honest review.

Do not try this until doing a patch test! I don’t want anyone getting a bad reaction to the toothpaste/petroleum jelly.
It was fun filming this at first!!!
