Day 64 of 365 | The Carnivore Diet Experiment!
Hi friends: It’s day 64 of 365 of the carnivore diet experiment! I am officially at the 2 month mark of the carnivore diet experiment. I thought that at this point I would be free of craving and temptations but sadly that is not the case.
We are now pretty much entering the Christmas Holiday season. I noticed that last week when I went to the mall all that they were playing was Christmas songs. The music the decorations are really giving me Christmas cheer. I am looking forward to spending time with my family and friends but I am not looking forward to all of the food temptations.
The one positive is that I do work from home…So I don’t have to worry about the work Christmas parties. They all involve loads of carbie food.
Maybe it is all of those wonderful smelling baked goods that are all around us. I know that my daughter loves to bake with me at this time of the year. Last year we made many keto versions of my fave baked goods. The look of some of these desserts are so beautiful and delicious looking. Do I want to eat them? Am I tempted? Of course, I am….I am still dealing with temptations!
Many carnivores state that after a year, the taste buds crave different food such as steak. I hope one day my sweet cravings will be nothing but a memory. I realize I will not lose these cravings overnight. Everything good in life takes time. I understand that my giving up sugar in every form was the first step. Sugar is so addictive.
There is so much pressure during this time. For many of us, it is difficult to release ourselves from the pressure of eating food just because it is around us so much more at this time. We have been conditioned to believe that we must overeat in order to celebrate.
I am ready this year. Here are my tips for you and me:
1. I will be eating until full before attending any holiday party.
2. If I attend a close friend’s party or family member, I will bring my own food.
3. Remind myself of my I decided to start this experiment.
As for right now, I am really happy with the benefits that I have experienced so far. The carnivore diet is proving to be the best elimination diet! I am really happy that I decided to go beyond a month this time around.
Week 9 health benefits so far:
Acne – My skin is clearing up! Yas! No new acne breakouts!
Digestion – Still great!
Sleep – Same as last week – I am sleeping throughout the night. Insomnia cured!
Skin – No change in my eczema.
Weight – Current weight is 135.4???
Week 1 – I was 139.6!
Week 2 – I was 137.2!
Week 3 – I was 138.8!
Week 4 – I was 137.2!
Week 5 – I was 137.4!
Week 6 – I was 135.2!
Week 7 – I was 136.6!
Week 8 – I was 136.0!
Today I made chicken cracklings for dinner! They are the ideal keto and carnivore snacks. I also had a gigantic ribeye steak!
