Day 6 of 365 | The Carnivore Diet Experiment!

Day 6 of 365 | The Carnivore Diet Experiment!

Hello friends: It’s day six of the carnivore diet experiment! It’s Thanksgiving weekend for us Canadian’s. During the week I began to stress. I am still stressed today because there will be so many temptations.

I started off my Saturday morning by getting on that scale. I haven’t stepped on this scale in a few months. I avoided it because I was eating like an idiot. Today I was pleasantly surprised I didn’t gain as much as I thought. The scale said 139.6 pounds. That’s not too bad. I was expecting to see a number in the 140s because as I mentioned. I had fallen off and started to binge in my omads. This is bittersweet because during the summer I fluctuated from 127 to 135 and now I’m at 139.6 as my new weight. I don’t want to put too much importance into these numbers but I have to add that the numbers do bother me.

Honestly, when I was at my happy weight I got on the scale once a week. I don’t want to be a slave to it. How our clothes fit is really what matters. But I know that you guys are interested in the weight loss aspect of this journey so I will do weekly weigh-in’s just for you! Shall I repeat, I hate weigh-in days.

Today we went to the Mandarin for dinner. It with my husband’s side of the family. The Mandarin is an all-you-can-eat Chinese-Canadian buffet restaurant. I had a look at the menu before going and I decided what I what going to eat. I decided I would stay away for the dessert table and focused on the turkey, beef, seafood, and shrimp. I would avoid all pasta, rice, and vegetables. I would end my meal with a coffee.

I stated in my protocol that I would be having one tablespoon of black strap molasses once a week in my decaffeinated coffee. The days will most likely be a Saturday or Sunday. A lovely side effect of this molasses is that it has reversed my greying hair. I am a little worried that if I stop taking it completely all of my gains will reverse back. So we shall see. I don’t think taking this once a week will interfere with this experiment but we shall see.

They were really busy this weekend. I am so happy that we had a reservation. I prepared myself by fasting for 2O hours. My eating window was 4 hours. The restaurant was beautiful and clean as always. The service was excellent! However, we were so disappointed that they didn’t have any crab legs. When we inquired about them we were told the crab legs are done with no explanation. This is the first time in many years that the Mandarin has not had crab legs. They are known for it. We will not be returning to the mandarin because the crab legs are the main reason that we go. I think that the hostess should have told us before seating. If she had we would not have stayed. My entire family had planned to go their during the Christmas holidays, this plan is now canceled.

I had a plate of black pepper steak and dry turkey for my dinner. The buffet was 28.99 per person. We could have gone to a Chinese restaurant and paid 50% less and had leftovers for the next day. If you are doing this carnivore diet avoid this chain restaurant. Go there if you have money to burn. This was not the best choice for a restaurant.
