Day 25 of 365 | The Carnivore Diet Experiment!
Hi friends: It’s day 25 of 365 of the carnivore diet experiment! I had a fantastic sleep and I woke up feeling great! I usually go for a walk after work but this morning. I had so much energy that I just had to walk this morning instead. It was cold outside but I bundle up and went for an hour-long stroll. I actually wanted to run. I haven’t been able to do so for years because I have had issues with my knees.
After my walk, I started work. I sipped on water. I didn’t feel hungry at all. I am feeling great.
I have been eating a lot of steaks. For the past 24 days, I have been grilling it on my George Foreman Grill but I have noticed that the non-stick part of the grill is starting to wear off. So I today I decided I would pan fry my steak. It was even tastier. I added a small amount of butter. Lowered the heat to medium. I fried the steak on each side for 2 minutes. Then flipped it for an additional 60 secs on eat side. This gave a rather tasty medium-rare steak. I topped it with some butter. That’s about it!
I do find that if I fry a burger it doesn’t taste as good. I think the grill marks on the burger is what makes the burger taste so amazing. My steaks need to be grilled on the George Foreman Grill which means I will be adding a new grill to my Christmas Must have Influencers list! I have had my grill for years. I have not had any issues with it until now. However, I have always wanted a bigger one. Mine can only handle one large rib eye at a time.
I think that because I pan-fried my steak at medium heat for at least two minutes. It really sealed in the flavour. It had a nice crispy crust to it too. I guess you could say that I seared it.
I am still enjoying this experiment. I can’t believe I am quickly approaching a month on this diet!
