Day 21 of 365 | The Carnivore Diet Experiment!

Hi friends: It’s day 21 of 365 of the carnivore diet experiment! Up until this point I have been taking supplements. I know that doing this is not popular in the carnivore community. Many hardcore carnivore believe that all nutrients are in the meat.

At this point in my carnivore experiment and from what I’ve read and researched. There seems to be a point of gratification to many carnivores to not supplement. I hope to have the confident one day to not supplement. There almost seems to be a little bit of shame for me to supplement anything. I feel that maybe I am not trusting the process 100%. When I have stated in certain groups that I do supplement. I am met with the feedback that it is unnecessary. I have always been one to air on the side of caution. I’m the girl that sticks her toe in the pool before jumping in.

I think I understand why this is a popular view: People want to prove that you can get everything the body would ever need from meat alone and if you supplement anything then that may be proof that the diet is failing. Could that be the reason??? I don’t think that is the case and I think that makes sense to be open-minded to supplementing a few key items. I feel everyone is different. We have all entered into this carnivore diet with maybe some deficiencies. I am lending towards the feeling that there is no shame in supplementing. I personally don’t supplement with a multivitamin but I do take the following supplements currently at this time: Vitamin D, magnesium, black seed oil, msm, and foti. It’s so important to do our individual research and do what’s best for our bodies.

Today’s dinner was steak!

Week 3 health benefits so far:
Acne – I have a few new breakouts.
Digestion – Massive improvement! No more acid reflux! No more bloating!
Sleep – Same as last week – I am sleeping throughout the night.
Weight – Current weight is 138.8!??
Week 1 – I was 139.6!
Week 2 – I was 137.2!
So I have gained weight! A total of 1.6 pounds in one week! Looks like the scale is moving in the wrong direction! I have not going to worry about this. My clothes are not getting tighter.
Energy – Still the same. It is fall.

If you are doing this experiment and the scale is moving in the wrong direction. Don’t give up. Let’s see what the scale says next week.
