Day 13 of 365 | The Carnivore Diet Experiment!

Hello friends: It’s day 13 of 365 of the carnivore diet experiment! On Instagram I follow many people that do the ketogenic diet and the carnivore diet. The ketogenic diet is a high-fat, moderate-protein, low-carbohydrate diet that in medicine is used primarily to treat difficult-to-control epilepsy in children. The diet forces the body to burn fats rather than carbohydrates.

I see a lot of people posting meal replacements and keto supplements on their walls. When I started my weight loss journey, I did do the ketogenic diet. I even made a Youtube video about it. I didn’t lose the majority of my weight on this diet. Actually, intermittent fasting, apple cider vinegar and black seed oil was my weight loss burner.

I haven’t tried any of these supplements or meal replacements. I have tried many keto snack foods. I would call them keto junk food. Many are delicious and some not! The majority are full of chemicals and additives. I would not consider them real food. These processed keto junk foods do not help to alleviate the habit of eating for the sake of eating. I can honestly say that I did a lot of snacking on this ketogenic diet. Why? Because…There seems to be a keto replacement for all desserts and snacks. It is so easy to get caught up and then you realize that you are just replacing one junk food for another. Many keto dieters do come to a point in their journey when they stall and I wonder if all the snacking on the keto junk food is the culprit?

I don’t believe it’s okay to replace meals with powders and all those keto supplements. I understand that people do it more for convenience. Because I eat only one meal a day and that meal is at dinner convenience is not really an issue for me. I just wonder if we can get all of our nutrients from eating meat. Why not ditch all of these keto supplements and meal replacements and just focus on real food?

As I move through this experiment, I am lending towards being a minimalist.
